Today in a WhatsApp chat with the SA Media and Publicity to the SUG President, Taraba State University, Pst. Achibong James, admonished and also addressed the prospective students of the University to abide by the rules and regulations governing the nature of the strike and also to stay awake as the on going strike is not a long lasting one.

See statement below;

Our attention has been drawn to the circular from the Office of the Registrar, Taraba State University, Jalingo, Dr. Joseph M. Lukas advising students to immediately vacate the School hostel and suspended other activities within the school for their own best interests due to the recent strike embacked upon by the Academic Staff Union Of Universities  (ASUU) which is in line with the rules and regulations of the University.

We therefore wish to advice our students as follows :

1. That students should comply with this directives and return home to their loving parents and wait for further directives from us.

2. That any student(s) that wish to stay back at school is free to do at his/her own risk as the school management and the Student Union Government will not be liable for the stay.

3. That students should continue with their registration as we wait for ASUU to call off the ongoing strike and restore normal academic activities. 

4. That students should continue to pray and to cooperate with the SUG to ensure that their welfare is taken care off and their interest protected. 

5. That we wish all students travelling home a safe journey back home and pray them to please conduct themselves in a manner befitting well trained Students of Taraba State University and stay away from TROUBLE. 

6. That we will keep you posted with development as events unfold as we are not resting on our efforts to get the management to meet with the students plight.

7. That all students who could not make their payment and complete their online registration for last session should please watch this space as very important information will  be communicated soon.
